Therapy is the one and only place where you have the space, the quiet and the time to focus on the things in your life, your mind and your world that you want to be better. It’s easy in every day life to ignore these things, go on with daily tasks, and forget ourselves. Having a person who is completely focused on you, unbiased, and ready to help you traverse these obstacles is a beautiful and unusual gift.
I am an empathetic and compassionate counselor who works with clients to identify their own particular circumstances that are keeping them from the life they truly want. My approach is warm, and real. You will never feel “abnormal” because I use my own clinical and life experience to help you to see where “normal” truly lies. I am known to use humor because your time here should be enjoyable yet productive.
I specialize in working with teens and adults in a way that is simple and easy. Part of my job is to make sure we are identifying solutions that fit you and do so in a way that you understand, agree with and can easily work into your daily life.
Mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD create barriers for people to develop and evolve, and traumas can get in the way of our relationships and effectiveness. Still, everyday life and the way we face new obstacles at each stage of growth sometimes requires therapy to help us move forward. I work with clients to explore treatment options and develop strategies necessary to get the best out of life and relationships.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Professional with nine years of clinical experience and 17 years of parenting experience. I have a comprehensive approach to therapy using techniques from Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address clients’ needs. My clients describe my approach as one that allows them the space to feel and share but also incorporates in the strategies that will move them towards growth.
